Loyal Stieg Designer and builder
I take parts from a Fusion model to steel that fits, and I build the prototypes and small machines in between.
Reed City, Michigan. Contracting through TUFTLER LLC.
Four ways I can help
Each one with a part you can look at. How each service works.
CAD + sheet-metal design
Parts designed for the way they'll be made: press brake, laser, weld. Native files, STEP, drawings and flat patterns.
See the press-brake tailgateProduct design, idea to shippable
From a problem on the job to a product you can build in batches and sell.
See the sandbag filling standPrototyping + 3D printing
Printed fit checks, test coupons and working prototypes, in FDM and resin.
See the air engineRobotics + automation builds
Small machines that move, sense and decide: inspection rigs, test fixtures, servo mechanisms.

- Send what you haveAn idea, a sketch, a STEP file or a broken part.
- Quote in writingFixed for defined work, hourly for open-ended. Scope and timeline spelled out.
- Design with check-insCAD in Fusion, built for your process.
- Files you ownNative files, STEP, PDF drawings, DXF flat patterns, BOM.
- Prototype if you want onePrinted or built, then fit-checked.

On the bench
- First steel tailgate prototype back from the fab shop. Tight fit, every hole lined up.
- Jäger: leg CAD and a walk-cycle motion study.
- Jäger: first servo test.
- Second press-brake gate design finished for the same client.
- Prüfling's first combat robotics event.
- TUFTLER LLC became official.

Four services, one person, files you own
Michigan-based, working with clients across the US. I design for the way a part will actually be made, and I can build the prototype too.
CAD + sheet-metal design
Parts designed around your process: press brake, laser, weld, print.

How quotes work
Fixed quotes for well-defined work, hourly for open-ended work. Projects start at $[your number]. Rush work costs more.
Terms, the plain version
- The design files are yours, assigned in writing once paid.
- NDA on request, before you send anything.
- Contracts and invoices through TUFTLER LLC, a Michigan company.
- Your project only shows up here with your written OK.
- Design and build services, not licensed engineering. I'm not a licensed professional engineer, so I don't stamp drawings. If your project needs a PE, I'll say so up front.
This page is a summary, not a contract. The signed quote is what we both work from.
Common questions
What files do I get?
Native Fusion files, STEP, PDF drawings, DXF flat patterns for sheet metal, and a BOM when there's an assembly.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. Send yours, or ask for mine, before you share drawings.
Where are you?
Reed City, Michigan. I can meet, measure and build in person around Michigan, and work remotely with anyone in the US.
How fast do you reply?
Within one business day.
Can you take my project?
I take a few projects at a time so each one gets real attention. Tell me your timeline and I'll say straight if I can hit it.
Self-taught, building since age 8
I grew up in Leroy, Michigan, building motors from memory at 8 and designing in Fusion 360 by 12. When YouTube came along I watched machine and manufacturing videos instead of gaming ones.
Today I design parts for clients and products of my own through TUFTLER LLC, from Reed City. Four days a week I work construction, so I know how things go together on site.
Timeline, dated so you can check it
- Built brushed DC motors from memory.
- Started Fusion 360 at 12. Designed a six-motor rocker-bogie rover with Arduino skid-steer and printed parts.
- Five trebuchets, each one better than the last.
- Built a handwritten-digit guesser and tried training AI cars to drive in Unity.
- The air engine's build Short went up. About 24K views since.
- Launched the sandbag filling stand.
- TUFTLER LLC official. First paid CAD client.
- First combat robotics event with Prüfling.
- First steel tailgate prototype fit. Jäger build started.
What prototype and robotics teams screen for, and where I've done it
| Skill | Where it shows |
|---|---|
| Parametric CAD, building from drawings | Tailgate, filling stand, Jäger |
| Sheet metal and bend rules | Tailgate |
| Welding and fabrication | Filling stand |
| 3D printing, FDM and resin | Air engine, tailgate fit gauges |
| Wiring, soldering, motors, servos | Jäger, Prüfling, RC car |
| Embedded control (Pico, Raspberry Pi, MicroPython) | Jäger, vision inspector |
| Machine vision | Vision inspector |
| Test, break, fix, repeat | Prüfling, air engine |

What I collect
Only what you type into the project form: your name, email, what you need, and anything optional you add (company, quantity, timeline, budget range, a link to files, phone). If you email me instead, I have whatever your email contains.
What I use it for
To reply, quote and do your project. Nothing else. No marketing lists, no selling or renting your details, no sharing beyond the services below that make the site and email work.
Who else touches it
- Cloudflare hosts the site, delivers the form to my inbox and runs the bot check on the form (Turnstile). The bot check reads technical signals such as your IP address and browser details and may set a cookie that only exists to tell people from bots.
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host it sees the technical basics of a visit, such as your IP address, in its logs.
- The project form doesn't send anything through this site. It opens your own email app with the details filled in, so your message travels through your email provider and mine.
- Google handles my email, so your message lives in a Google-hosted inbox.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, and the 3D model viewer loads from a public code library (cdnjs). Both see your IP address when the page loads.
- Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube collects data only once you press play.
- Video links open on YouTube, which has its own privacy policy once you're there.
Cookies and tracking
No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics cookies, and no analytics at all right now. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies or personal identifiers. Because I don't track you across other sites, there's nothing for a browser "Do Not Track" signal to change here, and no third party collects your activity across other sites through this one.
How long I keep it
Project messages stay in my email and project records for as long as I need them for the work, invoices and tax records. Ask and I'll delete anything that isn't needed for a signed job or a legal record.
Your choices
Email loyal@tuftler.co to see, correct or delete what I have about you. Nothing on this site requires an account, and you can always skip the form and email instead.
